Welcome! MoronMajority.com is a political blog started April 2015. The name is a takeoff on the “Moral Majority” founded by the Baptist minister, Jerry Falwell, in 1979.
We now have a sister blog, TheDailyNooze.com, launched July 2016. It features mostly straight news stories, breaking news and political observations, all with a progressive slant. Check it out!
Ronald Reagan, the most revered saint in the Republican pantheon, famously said in his first inaugural address, “Government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.” Not surprisingly, many Republicans took Reagan’s comment seriously.
Since Reagan’s preposterous statement, Republican politicians have done their best to stymie our government from functioning as an effective institution. They have also bought into Grover Norquist’s ridiculous fantasy of wanting to shrink our government to the size where “it can be drowned in a bathtub.”
The purpose of moronmajority.com is to illuminate important political issues through humor and satire. With your help, we hope this site will become a place for a few laughs and a forum for progressive political discussion.

John,
I do appreciate satire, even when pointed in my direction. As a member of the Moron Majority, I’m looking forward to many chuckles from you, so long as you stay away from being a bitter losing whiner.

I had to laugh at you when you called Ted Cruz part of the “clown car,” and seemed to think that Al Gore is some sort of intellectual giant. Please do your research. Cruz graduated from Princeton cum laude, and then Harvard Law School magna cum laude. Gore somehow graduated from Harvard undergrad cum laude despite mediocre grades, by his own admission. Senator’s son perhaps? He also openly admits that the only reason he went to Vietnam was because he thought it would help his father’s reelection campaign (it did not), and he never saw come back there and was highly protected. He also dropped out of Vanderbilt Law School.
John DeProspo says
You are right. Gore did not complete law school, deciding instead to run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives when he found out that his father’s former seat in the House was about to be vacated.Ted Cruz, however, is still a clown. I wrote that article before we got the ultimate dunce, and criminal, elected to the White House.
